Bungles Tent

What is ‘Glamping’? Some say it’s where the old style camp beds and tents meets modern luxury. We say it’s a great way to experience the spectacular and remote Kimberley without having to sacrifice the creature comforts of home. Let’s face it, not all of us are up to rolling out a swag (basically a bit of canvas on the ground) and traipsing off to the bush toilet in the middle of the night.  We all love a good nights sleep, a few conveniences and when you mix that with fine dining and a galaxy of stars in the sky we reckon you’re now ready for a day full of adventure on one of our luxury Kimberley trips. On all our tours from Broome, we have hand picked the finest outback accommodation through-out the Kimberley for you to enjoy, below are just a few of our favourite places we stay. (We’ll feature a few more of our favourite places to stay in a future post)

Bungle Bungles Savannah Lodge

Bungles Savannah Lodge

One of only two full service lodges located inside the Purnululu National Park, home of the famous World Heritage listed Bungle Bungles, the private Savannah Lodge offers us the perfect base to explore this incredible National park in a relaxed manner. Featuring en-suited eco cabins, with decking they have been cleverly designed to make you feel as one with the natural environment. being woken early by the bird calls is made up for by a hearty cooked breakfast and maybe an early morning dip in the only swimming pool in the park.

Kooljaman @ Cape Leveque

Kooljaman Safari Tent – Cape Leveque

Heading up the Dampier Peninsular you soon gain a sense of the beauty and purpose of this environment, rich in natural beauty and cultral history. At the tip of this peninsular Kooljaman at Cape Leveque is a remote wilderness camp owned and run by the Indigenous Bardi Jawi Communities. From the deck of your self contained spacious Safari Tent enjoy panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. Wake up to the sun rising over the water whilst in the afternoon a short stroll takes you down to the famous west beach with the flaming cliffs glowing exquisite hews of red.

El Questro – Emma Gorge

Emma Gorge - El Questro

Emma Gorge – El Questro

A Kimberley journey isn’t complete with-out a trip along the iconic 4WD track, the Gibb River Road. Situated at the eastern end of the Gibb is the equally famous El Questro Wilderness Park. Originally a cattle station El Questro was one of the first stations to welcome tourists, and what a place it is to explore! With spectacular gorges, 4Wd drive tracks to traverse, incredible look-outs and a range of activities this truly quintessential Australian outback destination offers something to everyone. Emma Gorge Resort, right at the base of the same named walk, featuring spacious en-suited tented cabins in a wilderness environment is the perfect base from which to explore this unique outback wilderness.

Berkeley River Lodge

Berkeley River Lodge

Berkeley River Lodge

Barefoot Luxury! about as remote as you can get, only accessible by plane or boat, the Berkeley River Lodge is an indulgent holiday in it’s own right, but add it to an InStyle Adventures 4WD journey and you have the Ultimate Kimberley Experience

Having arrived by chartered aircraft check into your own private villa with views as far as the eye can see. Sit down with the tour planner to experience all this destination has to offer; fishing for the elusive barramundi, cruise up the stunning Berkeley River, visit ancient rock art or perhaps treat yourself to romantic helicopter picnic for two. Or maybe relax by the pool – the choice is yours.
